Meet our Founder:
Tony Russell is a Henderson, KY native starting a technology company in his hometown. Russell brings a diverse background of experience to CATS Tech (Comprehensive Authentic Technology Solutions). He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree (Cum Laude) from the University of Kentucky. He has work experience with Texas Instruments, Lexmark, LR3 Enterprises along with teaching, coaching, and technology administration experience with the most premier K-12 private school in Kentucky (Sayre School, Lexington). There he was Technology Coordinator, Varsity Boys' Head Basketball Coach, and taught algebra, science, computer science, and fitness training. He also spent four years as a University of Kentucky Men's Basketball student manager under Bill Keightly and Hall of Fame coach Rick Pitino. Russell was co-head student manager for Kentucky's 1996 NCAA National Championship and 1997 NCAA National Runners-Up teams (the team also won the 1998 NCAA National Championship including players and managers Russell helped mentor). He was recognized by ESPN broadcast legend Dick Vitale as one of 5 managers on his 1996 All-Managers Team. More recently he has been writing a book and movie script, writing code, designing video games (including Project Nimbus), and took a long hiatus to serve as a caregiver for chronically ill elderly family members. He also has teenage experience grooming racehorses and working in restaurants (Golden Corral and Rick's Una Pizza). Russell spent ten years volunteering regularly at the University of Southern Indiana. Recently he helped create and organize an annual event to benefit veterans, first responders, and their families in the Henderson, KY Tri-State area called Horses for Heroes. He still serves on the planning committee for the event. As Founder and CEO of CATS Tech he brings all of that experience and more to the company.
